Coach Brad started swimming competitively as an age group swimmer while growing up in Iowa and earned a swimming scholarship to Mankato State University in Minnesota. He returned to competitive swimming as a self-coached Masters swimmer at age 40 in San Francisco. Since returning to competition he has competed in numerous Regional and National swim meets, including the World Masters Championship meet held at Stanford in 2006 where he placed 4th in the 100 meter butterfly, 8th in the 50 meter fly and 11th in the 50 meter butterfly. He placed 1st in the 50 yard butterfly at the National Masters Championships held at Tacoma WA in 1995 and has obtained 39 top ten national times.
He is currently the Head Coach of the boys and girls swim teams at Terra Nova High School in Pacifica where he has coached for the last 4 years. The 2009 and 2010 Boys’ Varsity team won the Peninsula Athletic League championship for the first time since 2003. The Varsity and Frosh/Soph teams have broken 13 school records during the last 4 years, some which had stood for over 30 years.
Coach Brad had the privilege to become the Assistant Coach of the Bay Masters Swim Team in September 2010 where he is able to share is passion for swimming.
